On this trip to Bangladesh, we will attend two incredible traditional festivals. The first of them is Hindu Festival Rakher Upobash, a Hindu ritual in which the streets of Dhaka are filled with candles and prayers. On the other hand, we will also witness the Kamalganj Buddhist festival, in the rural areas of the mountains.<\/p>\n

We will start in the hectic capital of Bangladesh where, after the festival, we will be able to tour its most iconic places: markets, shipyards, train tracks, slums and brick factories. We will continue towards the tribal area, traveling on an old train, an isolated region that brings together dozens of different cultures. In the area we will visit the tea plantations and the famous traditional textile factories.<\/p>\n

A very complete trip, in which we can enjoy the festivals, contemplate the colonial architecture, tribal traditions and some of the hardest jobs in the world.<\/p>\n

We will attend traditional festivals<\/h3>\n

In Sonargaon (Dhaka) we will visit the busiest Hindu temple in Bangladesh and experience the arrival of the participants to the Rakher Upobash<\/strong> (Diwali Festival<\/strong>). The main event will begin in the evening, during which we will be able to take wonderful photographs of the people.<\/p>\n

During this trip to Bangladesh, we will travel to Kamalganj to attend to the traditional Raas Festival in the Manipuri area.<\/p>\n

Dhaka<\/h3>\n

During our stay in Dhaka, we will visit different markets, such as Shakhari, where we will photograph the bustling streets, the people and their daily activities. Also, we will explore the Islampur bazaar, the largest clothing market in the country. Additionally, we will visit the Kawran fish and vegetable market, the largest in the city. The Bazar, located beside the railway line, casts abstract scenery when the train crosses.<\/p>\n

We will cross the river to visit a small shipyard where boat repair activities are carried out. Also, we will visit Amin Bazar (Gabtoli), where we will find people loading and unloading bricks, sand and coal from ships.<\/p>\n

Bhatik<\/h3>\n

We will visit Batik in Narayanganj. It is a colorful city famous for the fabric manufacturing process. We will go to a textile factory where they will show us the dyeing and drying process of these fabrics.<\/p>\n

Chittagong<\/h3>\n

It is the second largest city in Bangladesh<\/a>. It is located on the banks of the Karnapuhuli River and is home to the largest seaport in the country. We will head towards Kumira and visit the ship breaking yard from a motorboat.<\/p>\n

Bandarban Highlands Ethnic Minorities<\/h3>\n

We will spend a whole day visiting different tribal villages. We will drive toward the Chimbuk area, where we will visit some Murong, Bawm, Tripura and Tanchangya villages. Throughout the day, we will also enjoy the beautiful views of the mountainous landscape of Bandarban.<\/p>\n
